For a large part of my life I have been privileged to do what I love, working in the technical production (audio, video, lighting, and staging) field. I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of some amazing events and work on projects I once only dreamed of. And through all of those I have come to see the importance of details.Read More
Social media managers live in a world that often seems like a juggling act. Not only must we maintain our engagement, we’re expected to keep up on graphic design trends, manage multiple profiles, be strategic in our practices, dream beyond the basics, execute large marketing campaigns — and don’t forget, build relationships with our online community.
This masterclass is designed to help each participant learn how to tell stories, capture moments, and engage with their social media audience. We discuss the latest tools, best practices, and share our own experiences.
…But first, values! Always establish your values before building content.
When we were brainstorming for our Candlelight services this past year, we knew we wanted to try to create a starry-night effect for one of our service elements but were stuck on how to do it without using environmental projection. Our top priorities were to make sure the special elements we pulled off for this service were replicable across all of our campuses and in a way that wouldn’t break the bank. We came across this video of a room that used a projector on a group of disco balls to create the effect we wanted. And thus was born our idea of a very disco ball Christmas!Read More

Each year, our church goes through a variety of sermon series. This year, while a couple of different series will come up, our main focus is on Year of the Bible. Because most of this year is devoted to one single series, we’ve been able to find fun ways to work it into the projects that we work on every year. In particular, one of our latest projects: set change.
As I reflect back on the Relate Conference, there are so many things to be thankful for. I believe every church was impacted by this conference, but the impact it had on NLC is something I’ve been able to see with my own eyes. Even though we were the hosts of this conference, we were reminded to dream, to take a breath, and to work as one team.Read More

As a team, we are constantly building playlists. Whether they be for our Woman or Marriage Conference, Christmas, or just for our our personal use, you can always bet that there is at least one collaborative playlist in the mix. I love finding fun tunes that will match a theme and using it to set the mood for events.
When Michelle Bezet shared the vision of Joy behind Woman 2015, our team knew that we wanted to share God’s story of Joy for the women in our church. Our hope for the booklet this year was that it would serve as a source of encouragement and motivation beyond the conference. We worked with photographers Christopher and Nancy Nolan, our bffs forever, to capture incredible images of women from our church. When we paired the vibrant images we collected with the stories we had received, the booklet came to life.
